This run was always a run done by Rachel on her high school cross country course at the Academy of Notre Dame in Tyngsboro, MA. Cans of food and other non-perishable food items were also brought to the run to be distributed to a local food pantry. All funds raised will be used to fund women in science and/or marine biology research as Rachel was a fourth year PhD student at Scripps Institution of Oceanography in La Jolla CA until her tragic death from a hit and run drunk driver on the night of March 28, 2014 in the city of Del Mar, CA.
