Good Morning Striders!

Up early, got the windows open, enjoying the great temps. Hope everyone is doing well!

Congrats to Thomas Cantara on not only his race victory this past weekend, but also a new 5k PR!
Congrats to Melissa Arnold on completing her 100k!
If you or someone you know has run a PR or significant race accomplishment, please let me know!

Executive Board:
The Gate City Strider Executive board is looking for members to join! Help us drive what we as a club do. We’re currently looking for a couple individuals to be on the competition committee, a treasurer, at-large members, and a Boston Bus coordinator. For each, except for the Boston Bus Coordinator, there are monthly meetings on the 2nd Wednesday of each month along with whatever responsibilities your role will have. If interested, please contact me or another member of the board for more information.

Virtual Speaker Night!
Join us the evening of Monday, November 9th at 6:30PM for a virtual event and learn about how a local Manchester, NH native went from racing track and cross country as a teen to competing nationally and internationally, on the road, in the snow, and on mountaintops! Kasie Enman, a member of Green Mountain Athletic Association (GMAA) living in Huntington, VT is no stranger to competition and only seems to be getting stronger after transitioning from the open to masters division. Learn about how her training has changed over the years along with racing terrain and what has led to her continued success. Kasie is a mother of two, a business owner, educator, race director, and accomplished athlete. Her running resume includes: 2020 Marathon Trials Athlete (her 3rd trials), 2020 Boston Prep 16 Miler First Female, Vermont City Marathon First Female (x3), podium finisher at the Skyrunning World Series, 2011 USATF National Mountain Running Champion and WMRA World Mountain Running Champion, 2006 U.S. Snowshoe Racing Champion, NCA Division III All-American Cross Country Athlete, and more. We’re excited to host Kasie for a virtual speaker event and look forward to hearing about her training and running! https://www.facebook.com/events/353600655921032/

Novemberfest
Due to Covid-19 the 22nd Annual Novemberfest will be held virtually on Sunday November 22, 2020. This event, hosted by the Gate City Striders, benefits the Nashua Childrens Home, and the wonderful work they do. Novemberfest has always been primarily a social event and a successful Novemberfest has been when we had a standing room only crowd in the bar at Martha’s Exchange. While we can’t gather as usual this year, the Nashua Children’s Home still needs our support. We are still offering some terrific raffle prizes of value greater than your entry fee. Entrants are encouraged to run the 4-mile Novemberfest course anytime before Sunday November 22, 2020 to be included in the race results. http://www.lightboxreg.com/novemberfest_2020

Take care, be safe, and see you on the roads!
