The Gate City Striders are many things. We're a local club with members from across the country. We put on low-key, no-frills races and direct large-scale, award-winning events. We're instructors and volunteers. We run in the summer, winter and every other season in between. We're a social club with a competitive side. We are beginners and advanced. And, we're proud to be both young and young at heart! In short, The Gate City Striders are much more than the sum of our parts. We're a whole lot of serious fun!

A Classic New England Winter 5k Race Series is about to begin. These fun, no-frills events for the entire family start on Sun., Jan 10 and run for 5 alternating weeks until March 7.

Congratulations to our GCS Youth Girls Cross Country Team who finished 7th in the Nation at the Junior Olympic XC Nationals in Reno, Nevada on December 12.
Three GCS youth cross country teams competed in the preliminary Junior Olympic Cross Country races last month. One of them- the GCS Youth team (13 and 14-year olds) - is headed to Reno for the National Championships!

The GCS-Triad Racing Team floated down to Lowell recently for the 2009 New England Marathon Championships and sailed back (amidst the storm) victorious.
