The High School Meet of Champions for Track and Field was held on June 6th in Merrimack NH and some of our youth striders faired very well. Sarah Burke, a Freshman at Bishop Guertin, placed 2nd in the girls 800m with an impressive time of 2:18.66. She will advance on June 12th to New Britian CT for the New England Championships. Also Qualifying for the New Englands was Milford's 4x800 team of Courtney Hawkins, Peggy Lai, Cassie Wright, and Dina Pitsas with a 4th place finish of 9:51.04. The first 3 girls are all active striders and compete year long for the club in road races. Courtney Hawkins also ran a successful 1600m in 5:19.96, good for 8th place. This was Peggy Lai's last High School race as she prepares for a brilliant running carreer at Division 1 Lehigh University.
