Youth Girls Finish Strong at Junior Olympic XC Nationals

Snowy weather and a one-hour delay did not dampen the spirits of the GCS Youth girls' cross country team at the Junior Olympic XC Nationals in Reno Nevada on Sunday, December 12. The girls ran strong and finished an impressive 7th place out of 16 teams, and ran faster over the 4K course than any other team from the Eastern and Central regions. Congratulations to the team (Courtney Hawkins, Meghan Philpot, Cassie Wright, Marie Morrier, Chistiana Pike, Shauna Salem, Brianna Lippitt, and Victoria Lizotte) and coaches Ron Johnston and Mike Wright!

GCS Girls Cross Country Teams Run Strong in USATF Competition
Three GCS youth cross country teams competed in the preliminary Junior Olympic Cross Country races last month. One of them- the GCS Youth team (13 and 14-year olds) - is headed to Reno for the National Championships!
